Welcome to FeatheredJewels, my online store selling feather earrings and other animal themed earrings.

I started my shop making earrings out of my own parrot’s feathers. I basically run a parrot rescue at my house. Most of my parrots have been rescued from other homes where they were often living in non ideal conditions. I live with large macaws, mini macaws, Amazon parrots, Pionus parrots, and small conure parrots.

Parrots (and all birds) molt their feathers frequently. Every morning I collect the feathers that my parrots have molted. About 10 years ago, I took a beading class and learned how to make earrings out of my parrot’s feathers. In fact, I fell in love with making feather earrings. I do also make some feather earrings out of my friend’s chicken feathers and other types of bird feathers purchased from ethical sources.

Since I love all kinds of animals, I also started making earrings out of gemstone animal beads, hand blown lamp work animal beads, ceramic animal beads, Czech glass animal beads, and enamel and rhinestone animal charms. I make earrings with mammal themes, bird themes, reptile and amphibian themes, and aquatic animal themes.

I also make long dangly earrings out of Czech glass briolette and rose petal beads, Czech glass heart and star beads, and Czech glass flower beads.

I have been selling my earrings on Etsy since 2014 but have now decided to launch my own shop in order to have more control over my business.

I am happy to do custom orders. Many of my customers have sent me their own parrot’s feathers and I have made earrings out of them. I love doing that!

Also, I’m happy to make any of the earrings out of either silver or gold wire.
